As a native New Yorker, pizza here in Seattle for the past 21 years has been much of a disappointment. Over the years, this led me to make my own at home. It never comes quite the same, and last night’s kept up to that tradition. I tried a new dough recipe (because, experimenting is good!) but it was a bit too stiff for my liking. But the photo results are worth sharing, and even with this new dough recipe, we ate it all up! I encourage you to make your own at home too. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by just how easy it is. And it’s really great as a family activity, since everyone can personalize their own toppings!

Tonight’s pizza was a caramelized onion topping for me, and caramelized onions with sauteéd pancetta for hubby. Yummy!
