Sometimes, creativity happens in small doses. A pan of brownies, a get well card for a loved one, a fresh picked bowl of raspberries from our home garden. Other times, creativity becomes a huge, enormous undertaking, with a lot of decisions and a great deal of overwhelm. That, my friends, is the road we are currently taking. After nearly 30 years living in our very tiny, ‘postage-stamp sized’ home, hubby and I have taken the step to move into a *larger* house.
“What are you thinking?” exclaim friends. “People your age usually downsize.” say others. “Are you hiring a cleaning person to help you manage?” cries one concerned relative.
First off, hubby and I have never been like anyone else – we are quirky, to say the least. And for the first time in our married life, we have bought a historical home, one built at the turn of the *last* century (1907!) which gives us the opportunity to spread our wings, have dedicated crafting (for me) and woodworking (for him) spaces, and a kitchen where I will no longer have to balance cookie sheets on my head as they cool. LOL
Imagine the creativity! A home with charm and quirkiness to match our own! And the space to be free to create with joy and messiness and abandon! So many ideas! So much inspiration! So much space for the Muses to wave their wands and weave their magic.
I am ready. Are you?
