Feeding the Hummingbirds

I love watching the birds out my kitchen windows as they chow down on their food. Out one window is a finch feeder, and they are simply adorable to watch. And out of the other kitchen window, I can spy on the local hummingbirds, who visit from time to time for a slurp or two of this sugar water. Watching them, I am fascinated by their near-perpetual motion, and am so delighted they stop by, no matter how brief their call!

Directions for making safe hummingbird food:
  1. Mix 1 part sugar with 4 parts water and bring to a boil to kill any bacteria or mold present.
  2. Cool and fill feeder.
  3. Extra sugar water may be stored in a refrigerator.
  4. Red dye should not be added.
